Not only does Edinburgh-based singer/songwriter Austen George have honest and musically ambitious songs (a combination few can claim), he also has a one-in-a-million voice to sing them with.

Wistful love songs don't get much better than this - ideal snowy Valentine's material.

Austen wrongfoots us with this vocally rather than guitar driven piece of musical magic, which includes its ability to reference Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creedence and (dare I...yes I do) Queen, all at once. Ten Tracks' current #1 for going out AND coming home to.

Austen George Profile

Austen George
Insightful, authentic and creative Edinburgh based singer/songwriter.
A commanding, angelic vocal, served with a soulful gritty edge. His repertoire is influenced by a broad spectrum of retro-rock but storytelling lyrics are poetically woven through beautifully crafted songs - music born out of Edinburgh's Bohemian and dreamy past.
An accomplished pianist/guitarist, championed by BBC Radio 1, Austen George performs both solo and with his band The Set Up. He can also be seen playing guitar for William Douglas & The Wheel. Austen has scored music for both BBC and Chanel 4 television as well as a successful stint at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2008. He is booked to appear again in 2009.
Other past credits include radio play on a number of stations including Radio 1 and Radio Scotland amongst others; rave reviews by Vic Galloway on radio and Rick Fulton in the Daily Record; and a live session on BBC Radio Scotland.  The Set Up were the house band at seminal Edinburgh venue, The Left Bank, where they developed a large following with their flair for clever rock’n’roll and their three-part harmony.
