Still championing the original creators of the Italian synthesiser sound in his mixes, on the radio, in articles, interviews and at clubs and on his label, Casionova stands against the corporate music industry in defence of the underground forever. Amen.

Casionova Profile

Casionova's relentless pursuit of Italo Disco and all things 80s synthesiser began upon his teenage discoveries of Parliament, B-52s, Drexciya and Suburban Knight, and quickly developed by 1999 into a full-blown mania for italo disco via the chance discovery of BB & Band's All Night Long and Fun Fun's Happy Station in a second-hand record shop in Manchester. Alone in this vision in the UK at the time, he was forced to scour Europe for his famed italo collection, and having pushed the sound at his electro night Molecular Breakdown (the first such club night on the South Coast) he found a kindred spirit in Ali Renault. Together with Spruxxx (with Casionova having previously been in many garage metal bands) they united to launch their spiritual mission of italo via a new label Cyber Dance.

Between 2003 and 2004 Casionova began to produce music very prolifically in a hybrid italo-Detroit style, and the first result of his work in this period was the epic Jam All Night (Parts 1 & 2) that featured on the first Cyber Dance EP in 2005. In the subsequent three years he has also founded and manages/programs Magic Waves Radio with Spruxxx, the first UK italo disco radio station, and put on and played at many italo nights all over the UK.

With new releases on Dissident and Cyber Dance in 2008, Casionova's musically religious passion is being spread further and wider than ever before.

Over the years he's spun records alongside Casco (Italian DJ Champion 1983), TLR (Creme/Bunker/Global Darkness), Rob 'n' Zoopsie (Revolving Eyes/Moderne), DJ Raphael (Dozer), Fonteyn (Computer Blue), Scape One (Mass Transit/Transparent Sound), Multiplex (Toytronic/Senton), ADJ (Pyramid Transmissions), Peter Mangalore (Human Shield/Sequence), Tommy Walker III (Human Shield), Soft Rocks (Pure Pleasure Music), Future Sound Of Clapton (samurai.fm) and Future Beat Alliance (Delsin). On the radio he has championed mixes by DJs like Casco (Radius/House Of Music), Beat Broker (Flexx), iamelectron (RobotDiscoTerror), K-Alexi, Joe Smooth, DJ Di'jital (Direct Beat/Puzzlebox), Mr Pauli (Viewlexx/Clone), DJ Overdose (Viewlexx), Jeffrey Sfire (Ghostly), Rob 'n' Zoopsie (Moderne), Fonteyn (Computer Blue), Baby G (LSB Soundsystem) and Syncom Data (Bunker), amongst many others...
