DFRNT is a web designer by day, and DJ/ producer by night, nestled in Edinburgh. DFRNT turned his hand to production after discovering the brooding sounds of dubstep in 2007. Since then he has released his debut EP “The DFRNT Engine” on Insectmind Records, which cultivates a sound that lies at the deeper end of the dubstep spectrum.
He has also released a couple of EPs through his own record label & collective Echodub - as well as using Echodub as a vehicle to distribute free music to thousands of listeners all over the world. “Anechoic Chamber”, Echodub's first free compilation has currently been downloaded almost 4000 times and counting.
DFRNT's 14 track CD debut album “Metafiction” is set to drop through On The Edge Records, with follow-up vinyls and remixes available from ~July 2009.
