Eagleowl are a lo-fi post folk ensemble formed in Edinburgh in January 2005 who in their words 'try and make the best music they can'.
The List once described them as "simply beautiful" in a "Your new favorite bands" article. Is This Music also said that they make "music of simple yet wondrous beauty". The Skinny said they create soundscapes "so delicate - almost hypnotising" in a four star review of one of our gigs (with Broken Records. That was a good gig.) Song, By Toad described us as being "torturously slow". Luckily, we're one of the few bands in the world that regard that as a huge compliment.
In the past they've shared stages with such acts as Field Music, A Hawk and a Hacksaw, Woodpigeon, Jack Rose, Chris Corsano, Barzin, Capulet, The Low Lows, Adrian Crowley, Serafina Steer, Broken Records, The Strange Death of Liberal England, Viking Moses, Tiger Saw, Golden Ghost, Zoey Van Goey, Make Model, The Twilight Sad, De Rosa, The Week That Was, Malcolm Middleton, Los Campesinos!, and My Latest Novel.
'With majesty and wisdom [...] Eagleowl create stripped back, modernised folk tunes of a quiet intensity' - The Skinny, full interview here
superb, seen them live at homegame six & absolutely loved them. Buy anything you can by them & catching them live is a must.
