"Brand new six track ep from scotlands finest. It sees greenback delivering a decidedly quirky selection of purist electronica that kicks off with a gallopy little number with strangely cheesey melodies and a perky, groovy beat. It soon gets darker and more serious though with some highclass crucnched out, manipulated beats that are intircatley programmed and have acres of melodic synths layered on top. The other tracks range from deeply tuneful to upbeat, computer gamey numbers. A very nice ep indeed."

"Peter Brittain offers up warm electronics cross-pollinated with Artificial Intelligence era melodies for Scotland's Benbecula imprint. Sweeping rhythms cascade across the foreground with energetic Plaid-influenced melodies wandering in the background on tracks such as "Fluted." An emotive nostalgia and uplifting feeling is conveyed on "Layabout," with "My Computer" blending magnetically charged grooves next to upbeat percussion. "Bruntsfield" mysteriously crafts hip-hop shadowed by screeching vocal clips, easily becoming a highlight on this debut EP. Not forgetting the effective, yet short-running, 8-bit electro-pop of "Loads of Little Squares" and the heartfelt pulse of "I Need More Time," Rotating the Square is a forward thinking EP that subliminally trickles into the past with finesse and control."
