King Biscuit Time Profile

With their first release The Three EPs (1999), The Beta Band were omnipotent. They were the Neptunes of space rock: creating new beats and signature sounds for others to follow. When the Beta Band broke-up, a psychedelic people's nation mourned their death.

Now they have cause for celebration with the return of Steve Mason's solo-project King Biscuit Time. Beta Band obsessives should be familiar with Mason’s alter ego from the release of his first KBT EP which was met with critical acclaim on release in 2000. Mason has since set up a new record company No Style with fellow maverick Alan McGee, in order for this 21st century Phil Spector to pursue his music without major record label interference. As King Biscuit Time, Mason employs a combination transmogrified of psychedelic, house, dance hall, pop, folk, hip-hop and electronics into his wide-screen, surround-sound international around-the-world-in-a-day dada pop that exists in isolation to everything outside his own planet.

Having already been praised by Radiohead, Oasis and U2, and compared to the Stone Roses, the Beach Boys, the Beatles, Primal Scream and DJ Shadow, Mason knows at least that comparisons are dead.

Let KBT invent a world for you and take you to the heart of the sun. Doesn't that sound like more fun?

steve mason, has a voice made of dream whispers, like memory foam...once heard, it immediately sticks to you, it holds its own season within your existence, haunting ones head with lost findings.. a buried treasure that one constantly wants to endlessly dig up again and again.

a floating lighthouse in his melodies..he guides you through the dark..leaving you swept away on his shore/
his voice makes love grow.
