Annabel Appears on The Police Box 7 » Lucky Jim seems inspired by the songwriting of such new folk luminaries as Devendra Banhart; but the fixed memory in the words and onward journeying of the music makes for the unique tone in 'Annabel' . Log in to download tracks |
Lucky Jim came to the greater public's attention in 2007 when the song "you're lovely to me" from his debut album OUR TROUBLES END TONIGHT was used in an advert for Kingsmill bread.
This maverick talent has produced 3 albums since then including his latest TRUE NORTH which the track Annabel was taken from. Annabel was written in Spain while "looking at the sea and trying to personify it in a song"
Since then he has signed to Ho Hum records with a view to recording his fifth album over the coming summer .
Born in Edinburgh Lucky Jim ( real name - Gordon Grahame ) played regularly in the pub scene and became known in his first group THE LOST SOUL BAND who released three albums with Silvertone Records of Stone Roses fame.
He travelled for a few years living in Paris Amsterdam and New York.
Always hard to categorise his influences range from Hank Williams to Serge Gainsbourg " and anything decent that comes in between "
He will be touring extensively throughout the coming year and we should expect an album release around late Autumn.
