Profisee Profile

Back in the days of Yard Emcees in 2003, through to the Great Ezcape in 2008, Profisee, aka Nike Oruh, has dropped food for thought. He’s notched up a diverse list of collaborations Neil Landstrumm (Planet Mu) Vent (Hardcore Beats) and Capitol 1212 (Kool Kat Records) showcasing his versatile style across a range of tempos. The promo digital E.P ‘What the Future Holds’released & roduced by Cloak X Dagger illustrated Profisee's poignant flow through hopes, tales and manifestos. Already considered a veteran emcee, Profisee is set to solidify his status as a solo artist who’s won awards through his delivery of conscious lyrics The artistic name Prof-i-see evolved from his first emcee incarnation Nutty Prof, as part of the award winning group Yard Emcees. The prize, a record contract with label 'One Little Indian' which is home to Björk

and Benjamin Zephaniah, spawned the release of a second EP 'Streetz' in 2003. Following on from this, he won the UK 8-Mile MC Championship to be crowned "Battle of The Clans" Winner live on MTV, which led on to live collaborations with Ice T, The Beatnuts, Jurassic 5 and The Black Eyed Peas and is now working the road, radio and studio, all in equal measure. Profisee has masterfully crafted support slots for Ghost Face Killah, Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, Santigold, Roots Manuva, and Method Man & Redman. He’s toured with Hexstatic (Ninja Tune), hitting up spots around the world, from Glasgow to Mexico, whilst headlining the strong Big Chill Festival along the way. Championed by the likes of Kiss FM and BBC Radio 1 and pirate station Rinse, The Zoning E.P is set to be the first official release through Cloak X Dagger. Produced by San Francisco beatsmith Eprom, Profisee takes the squelching beats & bass to another dimension. The Zoning EP is out now.
