To celebrate another year in the life of the Oxjam festival, John Gray and the South East Oxjam team have got their hands on some exciting stuff for The Police Box this month. Read on for some more information about the good work they do.
What is OXJAM? Whatever you're into - from club night to classical, folk to funk - Oxjam is your chance to fight poverty with music. It's a festival with a difference: hundreds of events throughout a certain period each year, organised by ordinary people, taking pubs, clubs and front rooms across the UK by storm. To get involved with the festival that knocks the nation's socks off in the name of Oxfam, register at www.oxfam.org/oxjam and help fight poverty.
What's it all for? Oxjam is about raising money for Oxfam to tackle poverty all over the world. Holding your own Oxjam fundraising event means that you'll be helping people to earn a living; get an education; gain better access to health care and fresh water; and to grow more food. Every pound you raise counts. www.oxfam.org.uk/oxjam Oxfam works with others to overcome poverty and suffering.
