2010 brings with it a very exciting new set of Ten Tracks events... three indeed - in January alone:
If you're pacing yourself for a truly long weekend to bring in the new decade, look no further than the first night of a venue know as The Roxy Bar, 7pm, Saturday 2nd January with a Police Box special, featuring Sara & The Snakes, Action Group and The Olympic Village. The Roxy Bar is where Ten Tracks channel curators, and essential Edinburgh venue The Bowery used to be. We gladly hear that The Bowery will be continuing to stage its irreplaceable events in a more nomadic capacity - watch this space.
The official after party is at The Electric Circus, with Ten Tracks' pick of the decades 1960-2009 (in chronological order) - quite a trip that'll be...
Be sure to check back here also for hot tickets to what is quite possibly Edinburgh's biggest and best indoor live music and arts event to date outside of Festival month: The Hidden Door is a new, hugely ambitious and worthwhile project taking place at The Roxy Art House, over the weekend of January 30th & 31st. This involves putting Scottish artists in touch with eachother and pooling their experience in different artforms to create large scale concept art and sound installations, as well as smaller exhibits.
Hidden Door and Ten Tracks have co-ordinated a 30 act live bill, not to mention an experimental music project going on at the same time, downstairs in The Roxy Bar. Much more on this in the January mail-out…
January also brings our first proper Ten Tracks gig in Glasgow, featuring the unmissable Super Adventure Club, and introducing hotly tipped Ten Tracks newcomers Fear The Fives, who will be on the second exclusive installment of the Hijack channel, out on Ten Tracks next month.
We would say 'get your tickets here' if it weren’t only £1 on the door – including a free voucher for that bundle. But we would certainly recommend you get down there early on Thursday 14th January, @ Stereo, Renfield Lane, Glasgow. (Thanks Stereo for supporting this idea!).
