Police Box artwork november 2008 yifi

Wreck on the Highway Boy

Y'all Is Fantasy Island

Hell for leather rock 'n' roll. No better way to open a compilation really.

Police Box artwork november 2008 the aliens

Pernickitty Jack

The Aliens

Classic? Hell yeah! Mad as barrel of trout? That too! Effortless brilliance on this pre-release Ten Tracks exclusive.

Police Box artwork november 2008 popolo

Or Optimism

Popolo

Have you heard of math-pop? Technical, layered grooves, but even more fun than a wrestle with your mad auntie. Optimism - you have now.

Police Box artwork november 2008 satellite dub

Magnolia Lane

Satellite Dub

Aggro and peace shaken up in a kind of musical argument; keeps the synapses guessing and the feet jumping. Good job that man.

Police Box artwork november 2008 found

Turnstile (JAQ remix)

FOUND

There are remixes and the are full-reimaginings: here FOUND's haunting vocal is taken and run with a mile by the Quartet's loping groove. Like getting lost in the woods, and loving it.

Police Box artwork november 2008 super adventure club

Built-In Redundancy (Mandy's remix)

Super Adventure Club

No need to try-try-try when making brilliant off-kilter pop comes this easy. So sit back and enjoy. If you get a twitch in your elbow as a result, it's healthy, so dinny worry.

Police Box artwork november 2008 foxgang

Easy Jet

Foxgang

Combining wickedly satirical lyrics with an irresistible party vibe, this'll take you back to mid-July with only a tinge of sangria-soaked regret.

Police Box artwork november 2008 music hall

Music Hall

Punch & The Apostles

If you crossed Sparks, Jacques Brel and Al Bowlly, you'd probably go mad faster than you could say 'Frankenstein disco'. But it'd be a whole load of fun, and sound a bit like this.

William Douglas-cropped 0

The First Monkey in Space

William Douglas

Why be metaphorical when you can just write a true-as song about the first monkey in space? Just tell it straight and sing it clear and you're on to a winner.

Police Box artwork november 2008 rob st john

Wicker Basket

Rob St John

Dammit this is good. It's lo-fi and folky, very British and reminiscent of a number of greats... but it sounds like he could be in your living room, telling it to you like a friend. And in a sense, of course, he is.

So, as a subscriber I can download all ten in one package? Guys, that's not making me want to be a subscriber. That's making me want to find a site that's not from 1996. So stop punishing me for throwing (albeit tiny amounts of) money at you, and embarrassing yourselves, please? Cheers, ta

    Hi Johannes,

Thanks for signing up to Ten Tracks, and for your feedback.

The main incentives for becoming a subscriber are that you get two months free out of twelve, and that getting your music is easier because the tracks are available automatically each month. The 'download all' option is just another perk, while we work out a way to make this function more widely available.

We're working on different options, and will be making 'download all' much more readily available soon. I should point out that, in terms of buying a personally chosen selection, and downloading all these at once, we know of no other sites that give this option without additional software - so it's not like we're caught in 1996 on that score. Thanks for bearing with us though; we want to make the site as user-friendly as possible and are looking into a range of different options.

We clocked your request for gift subscriptions too. It's another thing we're working on, so thanks for the encouragement!
